Ok, time to start doing something other than building the wings. going to move on the working on the tail section assembly and decided to break out the welder for the first time for this project and make the hinge parts for the rudder and elevator assemblies. This was a fairly straight forward process of welding two sections of pipe together (1 foot long) and then cutting them up into 1/2 inch sections.

This was also the first time I have used my new(er) TIG welder for this project or really any project other than doing to practice welding. When I got done doing the welding job for this, I was really pleased with the end result.

After welding the pipes together I used my metal cutoff band saw to chop them up into 1/2 inch pieces and then took them over to the belt sander to square them up – finished results looked
